Driving Minibus – Advice for Members

Subsequent to Department of Infrastructure clarification in relation to teachers driving minibuses, the key piece of legislation in regard to this is the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations (Northern Ireland 1996).  This requires anyone who drives a minibus on anything other than a voluntary basis to have a full D1 licence.  Previous advice from the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) was that a teacher could drive a minibus on their car driving licence.
